Airborne sound insulation

Airborne sound insulation in accordance with ISO 140-3

The sound insulation of a building component is measured in the laboratory by attaching the component to a measurement opening between two adjoining rooms (meetruimten). In one of the rooms, the so-called transmitting room, sound is reproduced through loudspeakers. In this transmitting room and in the adjoining room, the so-called receiving room, the sound is measured and recorded.
